Twelve years building one system for Czechs

Jacob finishes his Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and comes to Prague for "just a month" to do an English teaching course while working out what to do with his life.

After falling in love with teaching after his very first lesson, Jacob gets his very first job as an English teacher at Lexis Language School in Žižkov, the manager of which he's still friends with today!

After three years of teaching (and learning how to teach well!), Jacob gets the opportunity to start his own corporate language school, Speak Like Me, which started with just a few teachers and three awesome clients (all of whom are still clients today!).

Just one year later, Jacob has Version 1.0 of his teaching system ready and releases his first ever textbook - which gives Czech people a clear path to practical English fluency, with specific chapters on fixing common mistakes Czech people make. Due to not having enough money for a designer the book looks like crap, but students somehow love it anyway!

After 4 years in business, Speak Like Me has already grown to around 20 teachers, with 25+ corporate clients including some big name companies such as Pfizer, CETIN, Mall.cz and iWant - and Speak Like Me is quickly becoming one of the best-rated language schools in the country.

During this time, Jacob has been working on improving the teaching system, and releases his second textbook (now actually professionally designed) with lots of improvements to the explanations, pro tips for Czechs, and lovely Czech translations of every example sentence. This new book is very well received and sells out within 3 months!

After a six month process, Speak Like Me is sold and Jacob gets rid of his flat, sells all his things, and gets on a plane with just a backpack to spend a year travelling the world while planning English With Jacob and the biggest update ever to his teaching system, as well as planning another new company (called Languages With A Twist).
